An effort to translate Mankutimmana Kagga of DVG

An effort to translate
MANKUTIMMANA KAGGA by Great Poet in Kannada - DVG

Even if alone, fight till the end,
All the while, search for the right bend,
What value has life, if you stand and murmur
Fight and show your power – Mankutimma.

Viewing one sky, seeing one land,
Eating same grain, drinking water same
Breathing same air, in the mankind
wherefrom this hatred came? – Mankutimma

Don’t reject life, nor ask what love is,
Create As much you can - happiness,
To wipe out injustice, boldly fight,
Let anything come, stand upright – Mankutimma

What is the achievement of liberty
Pouring blood on the ground, making it dirty,
Thinking it as garland & fight with lance
Will it give you fragrance – Mankutimma

Sympathy filled eyes, my friend
Is sharper than the harsh word
A criminal's heart, steady even in front of sword

May soften with kindness – Mankutimma

Waking a tired man in deep sleep
Is it helping, to ask him to search a bed
Don’t spoil his peace in the name of help
Its no easy to do good – Mankutimma
